CTE programs
Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides high school and community college students an opportunity to pursue a sequential technical and academic program of study leading to advancement in career field. High school CTE programs are designed into clusters to give students the opportunity to transition smoothly into further education or postsecondary education to earn college credit and/or industry credentials in a career field of interest.
AUTOMATIVE TECHNOLOGY
BUSINESS
CARPENTRY
Students learn the basic knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair mechanical defects in automobiles and light trucks
Students in the program will learn the basic fundamental business concepts, key terminology, and the role of business in society.
Students will learn current techniques in residential and commercial construction. Student will also help in the construction of sheds and a house.

COSMETOLOGY
CISCO NETWORKING
Students achieve a basic understanding of how networks operate and how to build simple local area networks (LAN), perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement Internet Protocol (IP).
CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Students will learn inspect, analyze and evaluate damaged vehicles, restore damaged vehicles, and refinish repaired vehicles, I-Car Professional Development Program (PDP)
CULINARY ARTS
Students learn to identify and use basic tools of the culinary trade. They develop and modify recipes, calculate meal cost and learn to read and follow recipes.
HEALTH OCCUPATIONS
Students entering the Health Occupations program will become familiar with various employment opportunities in the health care field.
INTERACTIVE MEDIA
Students learning will focus on three pathway areas: Graphic Design, Digital Media, and Interactive Media
PROJECT LEAD THE WAY
Students in this program will learn about applying science, technology, engineering and math through a project based hands-on approach to solve complex problems
Students in the class will learn the conceptual ideas of computing and help students understand why certain tools or languages might be utilized to solve particular problems.
EARLY CHILDHOOD
Students in the Child Care Program will provide training in the education and care of preschool and primary-aged children.
HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAFACTURING
Students in this course will gain the skills and knowledge that prepare students for careers in manufacturing.
JROTC
Students in this program will learn the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and sense of accomplishment.
TAM
The Teacher Academy of Maryland is designed for students who want to explore a career as an elementary, middle or high school, teacher. Students in the academy, have the opportunity to conduct formal observations, develop and deliver lesson plans in a K-12 setting, and participate in special events and activities. Academy coursework focuses on development, learning theory, positive and effective classroom management and discipline, curriculum delivery models, and the creation of developmentally-appropriate curriculum and learning environments.
Students will learn basic and advanced instruction in the field of cosmetology, and will at end of the program take the Maryland State Cosmetology Examination,
ELECTRICITY
Students learn current techniques used by electricians in both construction and maintenance
HORTICULTURE PRODUCTION MANAGAMENT
Students in this program will grow, sell a variety of bedding plants and nursery stock in the support of the community run A+ Garden Center at PHS-CTE
MASONRY
Students in this program will learn current techniques of residential and industrial construction as related to the Masonry field.
WELDING
Students in this program develop skills and techniques in the areas of arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and hard soldering.
Students will learn the skills that are common to Criminal Justice and protective service careers.
FIREFIGHTING
Students in this program is offered through the cooperative agreement between Wicomico County Public Schools and the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute
HVAC
Students learn basic theories related to refrigeration and electricity of a variety HVAC systems.
NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM
Students in this program prepare students to perform health care procedures and to participate in clinical "hands-on" experience at a local health care facility.
