Tricia Oertel

Cosmetology Instructor

I have worked for Parkside CTE in Cosmetology now for 7 years. I love the opportunity Career Technology Education offers to our students. I was a former cosmetology student over 30 years ago.  Working in a salon help pay my way through college.  After earning a degree in education, I combined the two careers. I have managed a salon, owned a salon, taught for a private beauty school, and attended several cutting & coloring classes. I hold countless certifications in the field of cosmetology from safety & sanitation to master colorist. I love doing hair! How lucky am I to get to show my students where “just doing hair “can take you in life.

Valerie Stevenson

Cosmetology Instructor

I am a graduate of Wicomico High School.  I have been teaching Cosmetology for 40 years.

I attended Delmarva Beauty Academy right out of high school and began my teaching career upon graduating.  I have been teaching Cosmetology at Parkside for 35 years.

I love to watch students grow and mature into successful Cosmetologists and open their own salons.
